How Heavy?

In maths this term the children have been busy measuring and learning about measurement. We have talked about how we would measure various objects and using what unit of measure. We have talked about weight, capacity and distance and they have had to estimate from a selection of bowls, which bowl would fit the most rice bubbles. We have made cones to hold beans and counters and filled them to see whose cone can hold the most. Last week we estimated and ordered a whole bunch of groceries. Interestingly the tea was the lightest at 60g and the rice was the heaviest at 1000g which is the same as 1kg!
